Getty Images has come up with a nifty tool that creative types might be able to put to a use other than buying Getty Images.  They call it a Moodstream - and it allows you to view video clips and images in tandem with music that fits the criteria you select.

If you're like me, there are occasions when your brain just won't take you into the space you need to go. It can be pretty hard to leave your day behind and take yourself into an upbeat (or other relevant) mood - especially if you had a rough commute, your kid kept you up all night, or something similar.

Moodstream gives us a shortcut to a different place.  You can choose between happy/sad, calm/lively, humorous/serious, Nostalgic/Contemporary, and Warm/Cool.  You can also select presets if you don't feel like playing with the sliders.  Don't like music with words?  You can select more songs with pure instrumental tracks.

While the fact that it only seems to play snippets is a bit of a downside - I was able to leave my lousy drive behind in about a minute and a half, so the quick jumps between songs didn't phase me.

Need to get yourself into a different frame of mind?  Give it a try.
