Challenge: Bring DARPA’s identity into the modern era, represent the dual mission of developing technology to defend America and threaten our enemies, and fix existing inconsistencies. Oh, and do all of this without anyone noticing.
Scope: Logo, Tagline, Website, Copywriting
Results: We aren’t allowed to quote anyone from the Agency about pretty much anything, but someone close to the project said something very close to “I love it! They delivered exactly what we asked for.” The change was almost invisible externally. Sometimes a new visual identity fits so well that everyone just assumes it’s been there all along.
Trivia: There’s a little Easter Egg hidden in the final delivery of the work. No, we can’t tell you what it is. Yes, you can be damned sure that DARPA knows about it.
