It's Friday Morning... you're listening to me talk, eating donuts, drinking coffee...

And THIS is the post you should link to if you'd like to get your very first link to your site.

Please note that based on feedback from today's lecture Stokefire and Netdrafter are putting together a 4 hour session on blogging for business - to be given in early January.

How's that for knocking off a New Year's resolution early?

We're working on cost and content now - but it will be less than $100 for the session. If you're interested in attending please let us know (by commenting here - just click on the comments link above.) We'll contact you when we're ready to take reservations (though we already have our first!)

Thanks for a great session everyone!

This January session, when is that?
I'm hoping the first week, just to kick off the year correctly.

Can you add me to your list of participants for that session.
Thanks.

I'll keep you on the list Realtorguy... and as soon as we figure out the date we'll let everyone know.
Great to see you today.

Tate, do you track individual's activity at your blog? Like how often people come back, how long they keep a page open, how many posts, what articles they read, etc.?

BTW, this is my post/request to enlist for more info on whatever it is your promoting ;)

Tate,
I'd be very interested in your seminar. Please let me know when/where. Thanks!

Jeffry -
We can sort of track individual activity... but it is only on rare occasions that we actually do. It takes a significant amount of effort to figure out who is doing what. We mostly check to see where people are coming from generally (as in what areas of the country/world.)
Also, we can't actually tell who you are when you visit - only what Internet provider is hitting us and where they are located. If we wanted to take the time to see who is commenting at what time and link them to the host location we could get a decent idea of who is who. But that is a helluva lot more effort than I am willing to put in. And I just don't see the benefit.
And... well... it is kind of creepy.
As for the semi-promotion thing... we're going to start with training back here, but I'm happy to include you on the invite list and if I take the show on the road I'll make sure to have a Seattle swing. We're out there once a year anyhow...

I was really asking if you tracked usage patterns: frequency, duration, etc., not the creepy stuff.

Tate Linden December 2, 2006 1:02 PM

Short answer: Yep. Just overall numbers - not by user.
